Watch: Milan loanee Christopher Nkunku scores first goal for RB Leipzig

AC Milan loanee Christopher Nkunku bagged his first goal for RB Leipzig earlier today, less than 24 hours after Santiago Gimenez got his first goal for Porto.

It’s been a good weekend for Milan’s loanees. Zachary Athekame played another 90 minutes as Lyon extended their unbeaten run, Youssouf Fofana was praised after Sevilla’s win against Valencia, and Gimenez got off the mark for Porto from the spot.

It doesn’t end there, though, as Nkunku also scored his first goal for Leipzig earlier today. He one-upped himself after getting an assist in his first appearance (this was his third), finding the back of the net with a nice finish.

His buy-out clause is believed to be worth around €28m, so Milan are obviously keeping a close eye on his performances with the German side. The same goes for Gimenez as the Rossoneri could bank a decent amount of cash next summer, if all goes well.

Of course, as is always the case when players are out on loan, some have questioned why Milan didn’t keep Nkunku in the squad. Francesco Camarda is the only striker deputy for Goncalo Ramos and while it’s still early, the output from them so far has been one goal out of the seven scored.

  1. Athekame, Fofana, Nkunku, they should have stayed because there was no real intention to strenghten the squad so we could compete for the “Scudetto” and now we don’t even have them, what a waste, what a shame, too bad it “had” to end this way, I am convinced that they would mean us a lot.

    1. Youre asserting fofana + athekame + Nkunku make us Scudetto contenders?!

Which of them get in to our starting 11 let alone Inter’s?

The only one with keeping for sure is Athekame. I need to put an eye test on Nkunku a few more times after watching him in UCL last week.

Fofana is not a fit and there is no space. Comotto gets those minutes.

      1. No, I don’t, there is still a big gap between Inter and us, we have a great distance to walk and a huge obstacle to beat. Maybe it’s just
me because I wrote this exact comment for the third time and I’m being pretty vague in certain aspects and posting en generale but
you kind of missed the point there as well. We would evidently be more competitive with them. Fofana and Comotto have nothing in common in terms of their profiles even though you could perhaps make the case that there would be a battle between them (sooner
or later) for that second midfielder spot in 3-4-2-1 had Fofana just remained with us as he should. Now that we know not a single MC
had arrived this summer and that Bondo isn’t part of the project, I can’t shake off the feeling that we are on a verge of a total collapse
        in case of an injury.

    2. Nkunku scored in a stat padding league and in what universe does being the biggest spenders, again, mean they’re not interested in competing for the scudetto? Drivel.

  2. It is because Pulisic should be also back up for Ramos and Ruben Loftus Cheek

But somehow RLC doesn’t play anymore football.

Hopefully Nkunku will score 9 more and leave next summer just like Gimenez.

And they will buy new central forward.
