Watch: Nkunku wins and emphatically converts penalty vs. Inter with Modric involved

AC Milan left it late to earn themselves a derby draw down under, but they had Christopher Nkunku to thank (and Luka Modric).

After playing well for the opening 25-30 minutes, Milan fell behind early in the second half as Federico Dimarco was on hand to tap home a low cross from Nicolo Barella having ghosted his marker(s).

It looked like Inter were going to be winners, but Ruben Amorim’s changes made a noticeable impact on the game, and inside the final 20 minutes there were suggestions that an equaliser was coming.

With seven minutes to go, Milan were awarded a spot kick. A give-and-go between Nkunku and Modric saw the latter brought down by Augusto as he looked to latch onto a through ball.

The Nerazzurri players protested what they believed to be a soft decision, but the Frenchman dusted himself down and despatched it emphatically as he so often has for the Rossoneri. The game would end 1-1.
