Stefano Pioli made five changes to the starting XI against Empoli and the rotation backfired as AC Milan only managed a 0-0 draw. After the game, he admitted that the Rossoneri lacked what was needed to win.

Milan had full control of the game and the defence performed as you would expect, perhaps even better. Up front, on the other hand, Pioli’s men had big struggles as the backups failed to impress – above all Divock Origi.
Speaking to MilanTV after the game (see video below), Pioli shared his frustration over the fact that Milan lacked the final touch. “This was a negative result for us. But with regards to the team’s fluidity, energy and attitude, I think we are returning to our former level,” he said among other things.
