AC Milan have an increasingly American influence on several fronts, and this involves players as well. In Mauricio Pochettino’s first game in charge of the USA Men’s National Team, two Rossoneri men were the pivotal to the first goal.
There has been a lot of talk about the links between Milan and America in recent years, and with Gerry Cardinale’s openness to bring a more ‘American feel’ to the Diavolo, it does not come as a surprise.
The club tops charts in America, and the popularity of the club is rising across the continent, and whilst marketing helps, having a strong American core is helping boost the Rossoneri’s profile. At present, the most popular player in the States would probably be Christian Pulisic – who has been phenomenal since joining Milan – and he showed his brilliance against Panama.
After a nice one-two, the winger then found his Diavolo teammate in the box, and Yunus Musah tapped home to give Pochettino’s side the lead. A goal back on home soil, provided by the Milan duo.
The first goal of the Mauricio Pochettino era belongs to Yunus Musah!

Seems like Musah was playing in his former position at Valencia, right winger. Moncada is the only guy in the world who thinks he can be a midfielder. And he’s the sporting director. Great.
Are you suggesting:
Pulisic morata musah
Reinjders fofana ?
Theo pavo gab tomori
It was a 3421 and Musah played out wide. Now many of us here are saying 343 but 3421 would work as well. With no DM, we only have players for this systems.
Mike
Calabria Gabbia Pavlo
Musah Fofana Tijj Theo
Puli Morata Leao
Or
Mike
Calabria Gabbia Pavlo
Musah Fofana Tijj Theo
Puli Leao
Morata
Also, Pavlo was quite good last night playing in 3 man backline. And this formation would put Leao closer to the goal, which was Fonseca’s plan from the start but he pulled him back in panic hence the drop in form.
RWB makes a lot of sense for Musah – he has the energy – it’s about time we started learning to play with 3 at the back – it gives far more options for in game changes with our current squad
