Watch: Pulisic scores spectacular goal for USA against Bolivia at Copa America

By Oliver Fisher -

It feels like anything Christian Pulisic touches turns to gold at the moment, and that was certainly the case during the United States’ 2-0 win over Bolivia to begin their Copa America campaign.

The winger got the opening goal in the early stages as he picked up possession on the left corner of the box and curled an effort that dipped and went in off the crossbar, giving the hosts the perfect start.

Not only that, but Pulisic got an assist to his name too. Leading a counter-attack down the centre, he played the ball to Folarin Balogun on the left who found the bottom corner with a low angled shot.

After laying down a challenge to the team in his press conference before the game, the Milan winger certainly responded with a performance where he led from the front.

  1. great performance, albeit against clearly weaker team.

food for thought as Pulisic looked lively at the left wing. His versatility is remarkable.

    1. It’s his natural position, so it shouldn’t be a surprise, but food for thought in terms of Leao’s future. If Leao is sold his replacement ought to be Pulisic. Then we find another RW.

  2. I had to go check the games where he was played at the left flank in all Milan’s games, he did spectacular well.

All fingers crossed to see whether Fonseca did his assignment on all his players and the prospectives

  3. why are all left wingers getting aggregated in top sides like ac milan and real madrid….Madrid has 3 players who love to play on left wing…AC Milan has 2….Point to be seen if LEAO can play CF. He did not do well the last time he was used at that position…But he was given no time to adapt as well….I would love to see him there. He can obviously drift wide at times if he wants, loftus cheek/rejinders darting inside the box then

  4. Leao only works as a left winger, coming from wide with some space in front of him. In tight spaces he doesn’t do well, he is not a great finisher.
I know they’ve talked about a 433, but I’d love for Puli to be the AM
in a 4231. Obviously he does well at the RW as well, so it’s fine. It might not work, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Chuck as a striker. He’s
got the pace and an excellent left foot on him, he could be a kind of fake 9. Maybe.
