Tijjani Reijnders was asked to name as many Dutch players who have played for AC Milan as he could, and he managed to get just over half.
Reijnders has already spoken at length about the impact that Milan’s Dutch legends have had on his early career and the fact that he watched highlights of players like Marco van Basten before arriving.
In a segment for TLN TV, the midfielder tried to name as many Rossoneri players from the Netherlands, and he managed nine out of 17.
The full list is as follows: Van Basten, Ruud Gullet, Frank Rijkaard, Michael Reiziger, Edgar Davids, Patrick Kluivert, Winston Bogarde, Clarence Seedorf, Harvey Esajas, Jaap Stam, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Urby Emanuelson, Mark van Bommel, Nigel de Jong and Marco van Ginkel.

Make sure you make your name count as well so others coming after you will be able to pick your name first 😉
You looked good against Real Madrid, I see a lot of potential. Welcome Home 🙂
Damn, van Ginkel..
Overall he could mention a lot of them but there were some others that i wont blame him for not mentioning like bogarde, reiziger, davids, kluivert and huntelaar as their stints with the club were fairly short and not really successfull.
When in I heard him say Van Basten was the most memorable and he was born in 2000 I started to wonder how 🤷♂️
Probably it’s a Dutch history thing or Comms Team
van basten is a legend and won the european championship in 1988 so he is deffently part of the collective memory even if he wasnt allive when active. If remember correcty there also was an article where he said his father had been a milan fan or at least watched a lot of their matches with them when the flying dutchmen was part of the club.
Anyways van basten will always be my all time favourite player with maldini, I cried when van basten had to retire.
@Martin Bernhard
Me too! I was distraught when MvB retired, especially as there was a (presumably fake) article saying he was recovering in time to play for Holland at USA ’94
What a player, and a bit like R9 … what a shame his peak was ended by injury.
Who was our last Ballon D’or was it Kaka? I wonder how long before we get the next one. The only player in our current squad that has a chance is Leao imho and he’ll likely always be overshadowed by Mbappe.
Yeah i remember they gave him a new 2 year contract and then finally it sounded like he was about to recouperate, i was devasted when it became clear he would retire.
Ronaldo in his prime was amazing and already when he was in psv i hoped he would join us but van basten will always be my favourite attacker and have a special place in my heart.
From the top of my head kaka was the last one as he was the last one before messi and c.ronaldo started batteling it out. Then schevchenko, then weah and then van basten 4 times or something, then gullit and i believe the first one was riveira even though thats before my birth,
Im sure some new talent will come and daunt us but in the next ten years from the players we know i think it will largely be between haaland, mbappe, leao, vinicius and maybe even kvarachkelia if he can keep up his consistency and propably some unknown entities yet to be discovered,
Clearly you haveb’t paid attention to this site as at least two articles have mentioned his dad telling him about the Dutch Trio and they watched videos of them play.
No, I didn’t follow those articles. I thought maybe it was like a thing growing up in the Netherlands to know these guys made significant history at Milan at some point
I figure it would make sense that he got it from his pops. Kudos to pops then lol. I’m showing my kid Nesta and Maldini how to tackle lol (but not the sliding ones, yet) and kaka for speed so yea it makes sense..
Ive not seen him play yet, but at least he looks pleased to be here.
