Watch: Ronaldo urges Modric to 'continue to play' amid Milan rumours

Luka Modric is reportedly inclined to renew his contract with AC Milan for one more year, and Cristiano Ronaldo has urged the veteran to do so.

Modric’s contract expired at the end of last month, so to his renewal clause, so he’s technically a free agent as things stand. Initially, it was believed that he would hang up his boots, especially since Milan missed out on the Champions League.

However, as per reports from this morning, Modric is now seriously thinking about staying at the club for one more season. He still feels in good physical shape and enjoys life in the city of Milan, while the Rossoneri are very keen on keeping him.

After the game between Portugal and Croatia, Ronaldo was asked about Modric since it was the midfielder’s last World Cup game. He called him a ‘legend’ and urged him to continue playing, which could seemingly materialise.

“I spoke with him, he’s a legend of football. I played so many years together with him in Real Madrid and I wish him all the best. I hope he will continue to play,” he stated.
