Alexis Saelemaekers completed his move to AC Milan yesterday and was the Rossoneri’s last move of the winter transfer market. The Belgian starlet arrived from Anderlecht on an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season and will replace Suso, who departed to Sevilla, at the San Siro, likely featuring as a backup for Samu Castillejo.
And the 20-year-old is overjoyed with his transfer to the Rossoneri, having expressed his emotions in a long post on Instagram: “It is with great emotion that I write these words! This day will remain forever in my memory! A childhood dream becomes reality and I join one of the most legendary clubs in the world!”
“I have the guilt of not giving light to my feelings so I do it through these words. Mom, Dad, Jesse, Jean-Marc, Didier…I know that I’m not the easiest guy to manage but thanks to your love for me and your determination I am gradually realizing my dreams,” he wrote.
“No words will ever describe the gratitude and love I have for you! I also leave a part of myself with this transfer, I leave all my childhood behind, this club that has helped me grow, these coaches who have advised me, the management who always believed me, brothers who have always pushed me to overcome myself and the fans.
“It is with great emotion that I want to thank all the people I just mentioned because they have a lot to do with this new step! Thanks, Anderlecht! It is with pride now that I announce my signature with Milan! I thank the club management for their trust in me! I will give my best every day to honour the history of this great club! A new adventure begins. Forza Milan!” Saelemaekers concluded.
