Youssouf Fofana had a rollercoaster performance against Lazio last night, to say the least, as he did a lot of good things but also failed to impress in possession.
The start to the season has been filled with ups and downs for Fofana. While he tends to intercept the ball a lot, putting in a good shift defensively, he hasn’t exactly been successful in possession so far. Yesterday, we got to see yet another example of that.

In the second half of the 1-0 win against Lazio, Fofana decided to take matters into his own hands, going on a monster run from Milan’s half to the edge of the Biancocelesti’s penalty box. He did everything brilliantly, even faking a shot to open up space.
However, just as he was about to shoot, he touched the ball with his other leg and thus completely missed his effort. It was a moment that was very symbolic for his season as a whole, erasing the good work done seconds before by a lack of composure.

After the game, Fofana was also asked about his slow start to the game and he couldn’t help but laugh, agreeing with the journalist. Clearly, he’s aware of his own shortcomings and just has to continue to work to improve.
Deliberate move by Lord Fofana to rattle the Lazio players, to keep Milan unpredictable. Totally beyond the comprehension of us mortals.

I swear that this guy should never ever shoot the ball and just passing it around or stealing it, you can get him to shoot the ball 100 times and probably only 1 time on target smh
What is this? Last year you were harassing Musah after every game, this year it is Fofana. How can you be such pus*ies, and weekly? He didn’t even play badly…
Musah is such a high quality player that he played less than Brescianini and Maldini at Atalanta…
so keeping the 2 Italians would have been more profitable for us than wasting 20M on American Andrea Poli… it was noticeable last season and this season makes it even clearer… 55 minutes in total and we are reaching the end of 1st half of the season…

Please Allegri just tell Fofana not to shoot for the next 2 months. Let Fofana settle down and not get those big eyes when he nears the box. Just have him pass. His assist to Puli vs Napoli was brilliant. More of that please, and no more shots.
