Watch: The eerie similarities between Pirlo and Tonali’s first goals for AC Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali got his first goal for the club last night, and fans have noticed an eerie similarity with a player he has been compared to in Andrea Pirlo.

It was back on 30 March 2002 that Pirlo scored his first goal with Milan in a 3–1 home win over Parma, courtesy of a free-kick that looped up and over the wall and in at the near post. The one that Tonali scored last night – also his first for the Rossoneri – certainly had striking similarities.

  1. The similarities are too close but Tonali will do greater things than Pirlo did. He is our new gem. I love the lad from the first day o heard we were linked to him. He’s gonna change the narative of this new generation players and their managers. He will stay with us more than a decade. We will win trophies together. Welldone Tonali

  2. Don’t put too much on Sandro’s shoulders. He is still young and may struggle with our expectations comparing him to legendary Pirlo.
He already has shown he had a red-black heart when joined us even reducing his salary and signing long-term contract.
There’s a great future awaiting. Just need some time. Good performances like this will help him to grow mentally. And that’s what we all want.

  3. It’s so similar but let tonali breath he would be fundamental this season and will score goals if pressure isn’t there on his shoulders.😉
