A video has emerged which seems to show Theo Hernandez questioning Stefano Pioli’s decision to sub Ruben Loftus-Cheek off during the win over Roma.
The clip (seen below) shows a confused Theo and Rafael Leao after learning that Loftus-Cheek would be withdrawn. The left-back even asks Pioli why the Englishman is coming off, gesturing that they need some strength in the middle of the park.
However, Pioli’s response was that Loftus-Cheek was on a yellow card so he brought him off, having seen what happened with Fikayo Tomori not long before.
😂 Is this @TheoHernandez telling Pioli not to sub @RLC because of how well he’s playing?!

I love this – show engagement and no bad blood between pioli and theo
We surely need him against inter, i think the decision to sub him off is acceptable,,
With the intense match, Theo probably forgot that RLC already got 1 yellow card. And Pioli just doesn’t want another red card especially with how weird the referee didn’t give Cristante a yellow card after he did a nasty tackle. It is normal interactions between players and manager.
But i bet the media gonna used it to write some dumb clickbait “There’s a bad blood between Theo and Pioli!” or something like that.
Hhhhhhhh Media
What a confidence boost this would be for RLC when even your teammates are believing in you.
This is great!!!!Players itself are fighting for each other, and holding together ……Theo is a Boss,Rafa is Boss…everyone are Bosses there, and holding each others back…That is how it is supposed to be!Bravo Theo!
Pioli doesn’t wanna risk losing him for the Inter game. That’s very important. He’s physicality is more needed there❤🖤
Pioli is a stupid coach AC Milan will never beat Inter Milan until pioli is sacked he was supposed to sub off tomori when leao scored d second goal with kalulu but he left tomori with a yellow card knowing he’s already on yellow, pioli would have prevented that red card and goal toma scored, as a matter of fact Milan was supposed to beat Roma 4-0 and now inter is toping with 2 goals just because tomori is one of his love on d pitch
Just a quick question, was pioli a stupid coach when he won the scudetto?
Pioli was nothing special. He won the league because intermilan, juve, Napoli did not perform to their optimum best that very season.
So Napoli won the league last season because Spaletti wasn’t special and Inter, Lazio, Milan and co. didn’t perform to their optimum best?
It was his players efforts. Go analyze that season games correctly to understand.
Players effort without coach’s effort? How true is this? You should be grateful to Pioli for his managerial efforts trying to make sure that Milan are were they are today with the average players our dear Maldini brought in.
UNGRATEFUL FELLOW
@Rob, You are more stupid than S. Pioli himself, I’m not sure you are a milanista. Since you know the work more than him how come you weren’t able to get Tomori off and bring in Kalulu. Yes, he was slow in doing the substitution but he doesn’t deserve insults from you. After all Pioli is also a human. Tomori needs to learn when to be aggressive and when not to.
I felt Musa would have been a better option though, but it ended well so I guess nobody will have much complains.
I had the same feeling as Theo, we were a man down because Pioli was slow to replace tomori in the first place, when he above all know how aggressive he is. Then he decided to replace all our physical players for young inexperienced players. Mystery decisions, as he wanted us to lose
But we win , end of your mystery story. You are playing too much betting gamble .
Hhhhhhhhhh…. pioli have to learn from his mistakes
Pioli was trying to tell him he has a yellow as well.
I know this looks like an argument or bad blood for thos who haven’t kicked a ball but trust me this was nothing. Happens ALL the time and it’s healthy
It was a smart decision by Pioli after he stupidly left the over aggressive Tomori on after the 2nd goal. He should have seen that coming. He had no choice but to take RLC off at that point in order not to risk going to 9 men. Under different circumstances it would have been Reijnders going off as he had a slightly anonymous game against Roma. RLC has been absolutely great in these first three games with his runs and physicality. My only complaint is that he has been shy to take the shot in the box a couple of times, either preferring to look for the pass or waiting too long to pull the trigger. One of those occasions resulted in an assist to Pulisic, but sometimes he just has to go for it.
Theo hulking up is the only thing I need to see today.
This is a sign that tells you that the players don’t trust Pioli as a leader and thus don’t trust his judgment, otherwise Theo wouldn’t have questioned the decision of his coach and leader, but it’s obvious Pioli doesn’t have leadership nor the character of a leader. The funny thing was that Pioli justified his decision to his player 🤦🏻♂️😂 What a joke of coach he is. God help us endure this season with this idiot on the line.
