Watch: Tomori greets Milan fans in Italian – “I’m very happy to be here”

New signing Fikayo Tomori has shown off his knowledge of Italian, speaking to the cameras before the first day of training today.

Training on the field should have begun at 17:00 CEST, but a thunderstorm blocked work on the pitch and the players did much of their training in the gym. Only in the last 15 minutes – following an improvement in weather conditions – did the Rossoneri go and do some work outdoors.

Milan TV managed to interview Fikayo Tomori and Alexis Saelemaekers, and the Belgian said the following (via MilanLive): “I think it’s nice to find all the players. I’m happy. We did a good workout as the first day.”

Alexis was asked how the training on headers had gone: “Yes, now I also did my hair to do better (laughs), but yes, I’m not as good as Fikayo, but I want to improve.”

Tomori replied ironically: “There is no match between me and him on the head shots, I’m much better than him but I’m teaching him to do better.”

The English defender added: “I am very happy to be here, to start a new season and have fun with my team-mates.”

At the request of Saelemaekers, Tomori wanted to greet the fans speaking in Italian: “Hello everyone, I’m very happy to be here. The first day went very well, even if the weather was not the best. But we are all very happy.”
