Watch: Tonali responds to question about Newcastle’s gym – “Milan’s is bigger”

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonali recently completed his move to Newcastle from AC Milan and got a tour of the club’s facilities upon his arrival. When taking a look at the gym, he said that the gym at Milanello is bigger.

The video of Tonali’s tour has sparked a debate on social media as many Newcastle fans interpreted the surprised reaction of his girlfriend as a confirmation of Milanello’s poor state. Anyone familiar with the matter, however, knows how modern and well-liked the Rossoneri’s training ground is.

When shown Newcastle’s gym – as seen in the video below – Beppe Riso’s colleague (Tonali’s agent) asked Tonali “but is the gym this big in Milano?” to which the midfielder replied, “No it [Milanello] is bigger.”

  1. Well you joined a tiny team that won’t qualify for the CL next season. Have fun playing in the EL in the years ahead.

  2. Newcastle is known for its poor club facilities. They are going to invest in new ones in few years.
They are lower tier club few years back. I can see this tonali interview hasten the club renovation

    1. Whose biggest player? My guy we have Rafael Leao, Ismael Bennacer, Mike Maignan, and Theo Hernandez who are all better players than Tonali lol

    1. This is just updating the already poorly ran facilities that Ashley left to rot for 14 years. When Amanda and Co really start to get the spending power people will realise they ain’t fucking about.

  3. How to say “we’re really salty about this transfer and are bitter that he’s gone” without saying “we’re really salty about this transfer and are bitter that he’s gone” 🤣

  4. Just like Milan is bigger it’s gym is also bigger.Side note the Newcastle gym looks about as good as my local gym and looks very gloomy just like the weather there

  5. NUFC play in the biggest and best league in the world and that is why all world class players want to play in the premiership which I’m sorry Milan but it includes yours.

  6. So Newcsstle are in the early stages of a process of rebuild. Good management are controlling the funds in line with the rules, not offering 10 year deals to twist the figures like some of the big clubs. As the net income changes next season and beyond with increased sponsorship, so will the funds for players. Fair play….let’s see, all of the knockers are panicking.
