Not for the first time, Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli struggled to deal with the raw pace and power of Romelu Lukaku in Sunday’s derby against Inter.
The Belgian made his mark early by crossing for the opener as Lautaro Martinez headed in having been found in acres of space, but that all came from Lukaku running at Romagnoli in isolation, which caused the captain a great deal of trouble.
Romagnoli – speaking about Lukaku after Lautaro made it 1-0 – was caught by the TV cameras saying: “È velocissimo (He’s very fast).”
