Watford director suggests Milan target will be cheaper if he joins the Rossoneri

Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta has dropped a hint about forward Joao Pedro who has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the summer.

Giaretta was speaking during an interview with Tuttomercatoweb (via Football League World) and he was asked about one of Watford’s best players, Joao Pedro.

The Brazilian 21-year-old has been having a good season in the Championship with the Hornets. He has netted nine goals and grabbed two assists in 28 games and he is regularly being linked with a move away at the end of the season.

AC Milan are one of the teams rumoured to be very interested, along with a host of teams in the Premier League. Given the money that Premier League teams have, Giaretta suggested that there is a higher price for English teams.

“I can say that he has an ‘England’ price, we haven’t received any requests or proposals from Italy,” Giaretta said

“He has many admirers in the Premier League but the truth, and we are happy about him, is that he is 110% focused on our run-up to the playoffs.”

Pedro actually recently signed a new deal that should keep him there until 2028 but a move is possible.
