CM: €30m+ Watford man fits the bill as Milan step up search for a new winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating the various options to strengthen the right wing ahead of next season and the name of Ismaila Sarr keeps being brought up.

Watford are currently on course to be relegated back down to the Championship but Sarr is having another positive season with 5 goals and an assist in the Premier League and an Africa Cup of Nations winners medal as a protagonist with Senegal.

Calciomercato.com writes that Sarr has a market value of over €30m with a contract expiring in 2024 and therefore it will not be so easy to get him, but one thing that players in the favour of potential suitors is that he is ready for a new club.

Sarr represents the type of player that Milan would like to add to their squad and while there are no negotiations yet, the Rossoneri have his profile on their desk and they will compare him with other targets to find the best fit.

Compared to Junior Messias, Sarr does not tend to cut inside from the right as much and prefers to drive for the byline. He joined Stade Rennais as the heir to Ousmane Dembélé after he went to Barcelona, then Watford signed him for €30m in the summer of 2019.

He suffered an injury before the African Cup of Nations that meant he was out for three weeks, but Senegal coach Aliou Cissé insisted on calling him up even though he could only field him in the knockout phase, in which Sarr was decisive.
