While Milan Futuro suffered the heartbreak of relegation, Milan Primavera were celebrating getting into the Scudetto play-offs.
MilanNews write that the Primavera did not work any magic, because magic is random and it comes by chance, almost by miracle. Instead, reaching the play-offs was the result of serious work, concrete ideas and facts preferred to words. Few slogans, a lot of coherence, excellent results.
After last season’s UEFA Youth League final and this year’s Coppa Italia final, the young Rossoneri beat Genoa 3-1 yesterday and, thanks to Hellas Verona’s defeat at Monza, finished the season in sixth place, thus earning qualification for the final phase.
The Rossoneri finished level on points with Cagliari, but Federico Guidi’s team finished ahead in the standings because they earned more points in direct clashes against the Sardinians. The final phase will be played in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence) at the Stadio Curva Fiesole of the Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park sports centre.
Regardless of how the play-offs go (in which, theoretically, Milan could have Camarda, Bartesaghi, Sia, Eletu, Jimenez and Torriani available), it is the entire project that is convincing, and the results help to convince even more.
The credit must be given – in addition to the players themselves, of course – to the management of the coach Federico Guidi (and his staff), always clear and balanced in his statements and in his way of being a coach.
The Head of the AC Milan Youth Sector Vincenzo Vergine must be praised also, an experienced man who is capable of expertly overseeing an entire sector full of very interesting talents who need to be directed – not only in football terms, but also humanly – on the right path.
The idea is clear: if the players are good enough they will play. Even if they are much younger than the average age. Milan Primavera are the youngest team in the league (together with Udinese, relegated a long time ago).
They play with many 2007 and 2008-born players, with the other teams packed with 2005-born players. A clear project, concrete ideas and cohesion: the Futuro could learn a few things from the Primavera.
The Primavera is managed by competent itlaian people, meanwhile Futuro was poisoned by an arrogant Swedish alongside an incompetent American one.
