Christian Pulisic will be sidelined with a calf issue, it has been confirmed, but there seems to be some confusion about when he might return.
As we reported earlier today, the MRI scan Pulisic underwent this morning highlighted a low-grade lesion of the soleus muscle in his right calf. A new test will be carried out in a week, meaning he will miss at least the next two games.
According to what is being reported by Sky, Pulisic is looking at about 15 days out. It is a period of absence that will force him to miss the Red Star game in the Champions League, but also the next league matches against Genoa (December 15) and Verona (December 20).
The Rossoneri medical staff will try to get him back for the match at San Siro against Roma scheduled for December 29, but there will be no risks taken given that the Supercoppa Italiana follows that in early January.
La Gazzetta dello Sport meanwhile are reporting that even more caution than usual will be needed because the calf is a very delicate area, with a risk of relapse high. Milan are not committing themselves in terms of return date, but the game against Juve scheduled for January 3 seems realistic.
Pulisic will ‘almost certainly’ miss the Roma game as per La Gazzetta, contrary to what Sky say. Now Fonseca begins to (complicate) consider the best form to give his Milan in the absence of one of his best men.
I have a feeling that Puli’s injury is going to be the nail in the coffin for Fonseca. We are too predictable with Musah at RW, RLC at AM, and only Leao as the offensive engine.
We are going to miss him real bad!
If this is nail to Fonseca’s coffin I’m okey with that… but I think it would be alibi for him why we don’t win those matches.. I think somehow he manage to finish in top 8 in CL and our management would be happy , never mind we would be on 8th place in seria A,
I starting to thinking Cardinale don’t know what to do for winning in football and he is listening wrong people and in the end he lose to many money because of that
Cardinale has been working with the wrong batch of people the whole time. He got fooled as soon as he set foot in Italy.
“top 8 in CL and our management would be happy”
Maybe, but it wouldn’t make sense if we don’t qualify for next season’s CL, as we need the income and prestige from participating to keep the project going.
Soooooo… puli is out and we won’t be able to play Chuk because we need to mitigate for Royal’s liabilities? How’s that gonna work?
Glad Rejinders is coming into his own. He’ll need to create and keep scoring.
For years now Milan has been a destination of every never do well coaches in Europe after Fonseca you would think a better replacement will come but never,no but another apprentice is waiting in the wings.
