GdS: ‘Where have you gone Pulisic’ – From leading man to supporting role at Milan

This season, Christian Pulisic started superbly for AC Milan and it seemed like he had taken to the new role perfectly. However, it is now an area of worry.

It is impossible to suggest that Milan do not have a problem where Pulisic is concerned. The American’s output has dropped so much so that he has not scored a goal in 2026, whether it be for the national team or the Rossoneri.

Then, you have his physical issues, which have had an effect on the first part. However, they are a concern, especially for a player who has struggled previously too.

Finally, you have his contract renewal. It is and has been on hold for some time now, and there are no signs that that will change.

The Pulisic problem

Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Pulisic’s latest performance was not a new thing. Instead, it has been added to a catalogue of recent shortcomings. His whole situation, as they write, is worrying and it is difficult to analyse it.

He is in a tunnel where there is no light. From being Mr Consistent, he cannot find any consistency currently and his decline is noticeable. Something has stalled and the Rossoneri are desperate to rediscover their superhero.

As of this moment, all that will be found is a suitor this summer, given he is no longer unsellable. He must exit this moment, for everyone’s sake.

  1. “He is in a tunnel where there is no light. From being Mr Consistent, he cannot find any consistency currently and his decline is noticeable. ”

Well, that’s just BS again. He played well and provided a great assist in our last win. Can’t find consistency? Well, hard to find consistency when you’re benched for 75 minutes in favor of a French Ghost.

  2. Jesus Christ, he got an assist his last start and was only on the bench last match because he came back from across the globe from international duty. He’ll start Saturday and get back to where he was heading. In form.

  3. I’ve always thought he would leave as soon as Allegri was hired. He has never fit into Allegri’s system. Yes, he can play in it, but not really excel. Leao will always be the second forward in the 3-5-2 when they get a real #9. So, I think this is just softing the impact of him pushing to leave.

  4. He is weak mentally. Everyone keeps ignoring when did he stop scoring. One fake news article and he fell apart. They should hire someone to work with him on that.

    1. or playing with an injury and out of position with another player carrying an injury and out of position in Allegri’s system.
