During today’s meeting with Lombardy president Attilio Fontana, not only Gerry Cardinale was present but also CAA Icon CEO Tim Romani. An important signal in AC Milan’s stadium pursuit.
This morning, Cardinale had a meeting with Milan mayor Beppe Sala, who later confirmed that AC Milan now intend to move forward with La Maura. And this afternoon, Cardinale also met with Lombardy president Attilio Fontana.
As reported by MilanNews, CAA ICON CEO Tim Romani was present at the second meeting. When Cardinale left the meeting he said the following to the journalists that were present: “No news yet, but we are working on things. It was a good meeting.”
So, who is Tim Romani? He’s the founder and CEO of CAA ICON, a company who are among the international leaders in the construction of state-of-the-art sports facilities. Milan have chosen them for their stadium pursuit, and Romani’s presence is an important signal that Cardinale is keen on accelerating the matter.
Among the projects that CAA ICON have been involved in are the O2 Arena in London, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Milwaukee Bucks Entertainment District, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and other mega stadiums for American sports.
Unlike previous attempts at building a new stadium for Milan, Cardinale is coming prepared and hopefully, we can see some movement on this front very soon.
