Why Amorim cut four…
According to this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Amorim arrived with a ‘friendly’ tone, but his decisions have been ruthless. It shows a clear change and a known need to get things right.
On his ‘cut list’ there are four names: Fikayo Tomori, David Odogu, Youssouf Fofana and Christopher Nkunku. Technically and tactically, there were reasons for their banishment this summer.
However, the Portuguese also spent a lot of time analysing the impact they had on the dressing room. Indeed, he studied their behaviour, attitude, commitment, involvement and influence on their teammates.
So, these four were immediately dismissed from the squad.
Behavioural issues
It is worth noting that Odogu is different to the others; he is simply not considered ready to play for the Rossoneri. For him, it’s not a case of behaviours, unlike the others; Tomori and Fofana are considered ‘disruptive’ in the changing room, for example.
With regards to Nkunku, it was more a case of his work on the pitch. Amorim demands intensity and ‘total commitment’, but the Frenchman did not show that. As a result, he has already left Italy, as seen yesterday.
Where is the guy that claimed racism at Milan? Couldn’t be a better moment for that. 😀

If (and with a big doubt on this report) that is true, then I am backing Amorim on this. Rotten apples must be removed from healthy ones or the rot will spread.
I think honestly it’s just a PR spin to make these seem legitimate. In reality this is just poor planning and repercussions from years of poor transfers.
Given the absolute mess that”s going on at Milan currently, I would imagine most competent players are discontent in the locker room. I bet Maignan and Rabiot are also already discontent with all the changes and poor planning… Are they to be banished next?

What? You must have missed the multiple occasions when Tomori yelled at his teammates on the pitch, complained of them a lot even when he was the one who made the mistake, and even subverted a penalty taking decision.
There was that infamous episode where Tomori took the ball away from then designated PK taker Pulisic and gave it to his best friend (and fellow Chelsea Academy product and Anglo-Nigerian) Tammy Abraham, then on a one season only loan from Roma.
Abraham missed the PK.
Milan lost the match to Fiorentina 2-1.

The main cause of disruption in the dressing room is Amorim. He has a history of treating good players like a piece of sh*t on his shoe. It seems Tomori is next.

That’s very harsh but not an uncommon opinion.
Recall the pk incident w Tammy Theo and Pulisic. Tomori was one who took the ball and gave to Tammy. Not the reason for this but could be a player that creates division in changing room. Fofana w his comments in media about his role. I also so another report he and his agent been looking for options after player not given reassurances about his role on the team after discussions w Ruben. His work rate could very well been poor if in his heart he’s already out the door. Yes what about Rafa. Sounds like they’ve lowered demands on his transfer as well.
Yeah sadly Rafa could be part of the problem too. When your highest earner doesn’t work hard half the time and mentally checks out of games half the time it sets a bad example

Let’s be honest there has definitely been a culture issue the last couple of years.
Impossible to say who all is responsible and surely it’s not just one or two guys. But there was clearly a bit of an attitude and laziness issue.
Theo was definitely part of it for a few years, the Tomori – Tammy penalty situation two years ago, etc. Without being there everyday we can’t know, but if this helps to fix it then I’m all for it.
Does any competent manager announce players not to be part of the current project?
Probably not, because it instantly decreases their value and signals to other clubs that such players can be had at a discount.
