Juan Arizala seemed destined to sign for AC Milan in the January transfer window, but the deal appears to have fallen through.
It was reported by Matteo Moretto earlier in December that Milan will sign Arizala from Deportivo Medellin for around €3m, with a sell-on clause in the Colombian side’s favour. He has already made 52 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist, and at the age of just 20.

Fabrizio Romano even gave the deal his famous ‘here we go’ stamp, and then Moretto went on to reveal that the Rossoneri already had a plan in mind for the left-back: to send him on loan to Toulouse in Ligue 1.
Arizala deal off
In the last few hours, surprisingly, the deal seems to have fallen through, as reported by Moretto and Romano. The Colombian will still arrive in Italy, but he is very close to becoming a new Udinese player.
“The documents with Milan still need to be signed. Milan were in advanced negotiations, had effectively blocked Arizala, but the boy’s path still needed to be defined and 100% structured,” Moretto said (via Radio Rossonera).
“Milan were relying on Toulouse so that the boy could begin his journey in Europe, but Toulouse doesn’t have room to include Arizala in their squad. So I tell you that the news is news that raises doubts about Arizala’s future at Milan.
“Toulouse can’t be a base for Milan, and there are other clubs pushing for Arizala, who would immediately give him the chance to start, part of a sporting project with a future. So be careful, because Milan could risk losing Arizala.”
Fabrizio Romano revealed the Colombian player’s move to Udinese: “Udinese matched Milan’s offer to sign Colombian left-back Juan Arizala from Independiente Medellin. Udinese scuppered the agreement already reached between Milan and Independiente. Milan wanted to loan Arizala to Toulouse, but Udinese offered him a place in the first team, convincing him.”

Nah, i’m not high at all. Maybe you missed the period when his signing was announced. It was touted as though tare and co had worked under cover of darkness and produced a steal of a signing. Well, it seems they were not as meticulous as previously thought. There was no steal, only a fumbled pass.
The thing is I guess it‘s Not that they couldnt close but it‘s all about politics! Somebody from the Management didnt want to close this transfer so it got stretched so far that information leaked and in what Wonder Udinese get‘s the transfer done !

Too many FM players on this site. We have a 19 year old academy player starting as LWB, and doing quite well. Where does this 20 year old Colombian with zero Serie A experience fit in? For the future? Bartesaghi is the present and the future. Estupinan is the experienced reserve. Case closed.
Thanks. I thought the same when i read bout the deal weeks ago. In addition, both our LWB can play only left while our RWBs can play left as well, so if we want to close an additional WB it should be a RWB primarily. Zappacosta would be a perfect fit for the summer
