Another report has claimed that Massimiliano Allegri would like to work with Fiorentina midfielder Nicolo Fagioli again at AC Milan.
As Calciomercato.com recall, Allegri was one of Fagioli’s first admirers. So much so that in 2018, he referred to him thus: “We have a boy called Fagioli. Watching him play football is a pleasure: he knows football, the tempo of the game, how to get free, how to pass the ball. It’s beautiful to watch him play.”

Since then, career hasn’t been what everyone expected. After a year-long suspension for the betting scandal, the midfielder struggled to find a place in Thiago Motta’s Juventus, so much so that he was sold to Fiorentina in the January 2025 transfer window for €15m plus bonuses.
Upon hearing the news of the transfer, his old mentor Max was reportedly almost speechless, stating: “Are Juventus really selling him? It’s a huge mistake.”
This season, despite Fiorentina’s initial struggles, the 24-year-old has returned to his best form with two goals and three assist 29 league appearances. Perhaps the time is now right for him to go back to working with the one who believed in him first.
Allegri keen on Fagioli reunion
As TMW first reported, Fagioli is a concrete option for Milan in view of next season. The Rossoneri need to expand their squad with quality additions, even better if they’re Italian (for UEFA squad list reasons), and Allegri’s appreciation for him has been no secret for several years.
Nicolò could play both as a deep-lying midfielder and as a box-to-box man, a versatility that would certainly be useful for a team that will need to restructure for an increasingly likely return to the Champions League.
There’s one factor that could facilitate a potential Milan attack for Fagioli: the Piacenza-born midfielder recently chose to entrust his sporting interests to renowned agent Giovanni Branchini, the same man who represents Allegri.
All the pieces seem to form a clear puzzle, but two factors need to be considered: the former Juventus player also has many international suitors – especially in La Liga – and Fabio Paratici might prefer to sell abroad.

If it’s true then:
Rabbiot Goretzka
(Ricci) (Fragioli)
Modric
(Jashari)
Possible Sales: Fofana, RLC
Possible Loans: Zeroli, Comotto
I guess that’s the plan for the new season. Except of course if Alegri wants more players for rotation (3 competitions are taught so you need a good season schedule)
We will need at least seven midfielders.
Im not against bringing him in but if we do it can’t be another Jashari situation. If we bring him in he should be getting playing time. I know Jashari is different since he got injured but a 15 – 20 million player can’t rot on the bench like the 40 million player we bought last summer.
15-20 million player? That’s pocket money nowadays.
So you think Fagioli is 15M if Jashari was 40M?
defense:
Barte – Pavlovic – Gila – DeWinter – Alexis
??? – Barte* – Gabbia – Tomori – Bellanova/Athekame
Odogu -> Gila
Estupinan -> ???
Bellanova in;
midfield:
Rabiot – Modric – ???
Jashari – Fagioli – Fofana/Ricci
RLC -> ???
Fagioli in;
attack:
Vlahovic – Puli
Gimenez/Camarda – ???

He’s a has-bean.
un vecchio fagiolo?
bean or been? 🙂
Fagioli comes in, Goretzka is bought, in addition to Jasjari and Ricci, RLC and Fofana. Plus Bennacer and Musah coming back. That’s a crowded midfield.
Who are they keeping in rotation and who is sold? Tare has his sales cut out for him.
With Rabiot and Modric being untouchable that is.
You keep Rabiot, Modric and Jashari, the rest can kick rocks
