Answers have arrived regarding the question many AC Milan fans have: why wasn’t Zlatan Ibrahimovic sacked too?
On Sunday night after the defeat to Cagliari and ever since that crushing blow, Milan fans’ protests have turned to Ibrahimovic. After the dismissals of Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada, Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, the Swede has emerged as the strongman alongside Gerry Cardinale.

As MilanNews write, the question mark that many have is why Ibrahimovic was immune from the managerial clear-out that happened on Monday, given that he also had a hand in the failures of 2024 onwards.
Strong connection
Cardinale has a special admiration for Ibrahimovic. When he talks about the Swede, according to those who have gathered his impressions over the past few weeks, his eyes light up.
The Milan owner sees in Zlatan a sort of heir apparent to whom he wants to pass on his entrepreneurial know-how, and a very strong bond has developed between the two. It’s not just an aura thing either, it is an almost ’emotional’ connection, as per the report.
Cardinale, in the now-famous Four Seasons hotel briefing with journalists earlier this week, said he wanted to do the same with Paolo Maldini. However, he wasn’t able to because the former Milan technical director said no to his proposal to buy shares in RedBird.
Ibrahimovic, however, expressed interest and effectively entered into business with him. So, beyond their personal ties, Cardinale and Ibrahimovic are partners in RedBird and, specifically, in the Milan investment.
According to reports, Ibrahimovic invested an initial sum of around €10m to acquire the ‘starter pack’ of shares, then increased his investments over time to a figure ranging between €30-40m. Other sources report between €28-35m.
Essentially, Ibrahimovic has invested a significant sum, making him one of the few known investors in the Milan project, hence his appointment as RedBird’s Senior Advisor for the club’s operations.
Essentially, Ibrahimovic is ‘inside’ his own investment, and the words he said in September 2023 before the Newcastle game now resonate more: “I’m the boss and everyone works for me.” Now, we see why he isn’t going anywhere soon.
In other words, as long as RedBird owns us, Ibrahimović will probably never go away.
Why would he go away? Because some so-called fans with no knowledge of football-business and hating mentality keep asking the owners to leave?
When did Ibrahimovic go to business school? Or did he learn that in the Swedish ghetto too? Was he ever a coach? What about being a director? He went straight from the pitch to investing in Redbird and then goes around telling everyone in the third person how they’re garbage and Ibrahimovic knows better than all. You call what we’ve been doing since winning the title in 2022 successful? Coaches are preferring Crystal Palace to Milan! LOL.

He said himself when he started that he will just shadow the more experienced ones and learn in the beginning. He has grown his brand very well and now have an estimated networth of around 200 million, so he clearly has an intuition for business.
He obviously made smarter moves then Maldini when it comes to the “business part” as well since he made himself immune to getting sacked.
Concidering how well Redbird have grown the brand of AC Milan and raised revenues, and Zlatan seems to be involved in the commercial parts alot, one can assume that they are quite happy with his work in that area.
You can hate the man and the personality, but noone can deny hes been hugely successful on and off the pitch.
And its not like anyone of us know exactly how involved hes been in player signings, and who were his picks, and who werent. Alot of supporters like to just hate, without having a clue whats actually been going on behind closed doors.

The owners themselves + Zlatan are the one who are completely inept at football business. I know you’re getting paid to say otherwise, but no one is fooled anymore by any part of this farce.
You are all fooled actually – crying here daily while Ibrahimovich is actually doing something productive with his life. Just remember that it is completely irrelevant what is said on this page, no one cares and none of it will ever be important for Milan. So you can complain all you want about Ibrahimovich, just understand that he doesn’t care lol

How many articles have been posted here that Ibrahimovic doesn’t work for Milan but that he works for RedBird in an advisor role?
So, if we know that already why would people wonder why wasn’t a RedBird employee Ibrahimovic fired when everyone else from Milan management was getting fired, not from RedBird’s management?
Its pretty easy to understand if you have more then air between the ears.
If Cardinale blamed Zlatan for what happened with Milan, he would give him other work assignments in Redbird, f.ex. in North America or in a different sports area, and make sure he had no influence over management assignments in Milan.
If the reports are true that Cardinale, Zlatan and Calvelli are assigning the new management positions and the new coach, its pretty clear that Cardinale doesnt blame Zlatan for the mercato or sporting results this season (and he probably knows better who was involved, and in what, then what we fans do here).

When fans and players realize that the “sporting advisor” is immune from dismissal not because of his planning skills but because of the size of his financial stake with the owner, Zlatan prestige completely collapses. His heavily guarded departure from San Siro after the fans outrage was the first sign of this decline. Cardinale did to Zlatan what he does to LeBron James and Ben Affleck he doesn’t want a sports expert dictating terms (like Maldini did), but rather a “box star” with a stake in the company to keep him quiet and promote the project. The dismissal of the entire sporting establishment (Tare, Moncada, and Forlani) and leaving Zlatan alone is a blatant admission that the standard at present day Milan is not “competence” but “financial immunity and business partnership.”
