MN: Why Milan have put their pursuit of Chelsea forward on the back burner for now

AC Milan appear to have put their pursuit of Hakim Ziyech to one side for the time being with other priorities in mind, according to a report.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Milan have finally secured the big signing they wanted for the attack as Charles De Ketelaere is in Italy undergoing his medical ahead of joining from Club Brugge in an operation that will be worth €32m fixed or around €35m including bonuses.

That means that the priority has now shifted from acquiring pieces to strengthen the attack to signing at least one central defender and a central midfielder too.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s plan is to ensure that the defence and midfield are well stocked given that Alessio Romagnoli left on a free for Lazio and Franck Kessie joined Barcelona at the end of his deal, but they will leave the door open for any unmissable opportunities that come up at the end of August, with Ziyech certainly a possible name.
