Initially, AC Milan planned to hire a sporting director around Easter. Now, a month later, Igli Tare has not even been officially announced, which could prove costly.
As has often been the case with Milan in the past 12 months, if not longer, their own timings have hindered the future. Last season, Stefano Pioli should probably have departed sooner than he did. However, he stayed.

In the summer, the club were too slow to appoint his replacement, even turning down Antonio Conte. Then, when Paulo Fonseca needed to go, he also probably went too late.
When it comes to signings, the story is the same. The Rossoneri spent big in the winter, which hindered them further, rather than allowing the newcomers to acclimatise through the summer months.
Now, it has repeated again, with the Diavolo still yet to appoint a sporting director, despite hopes to do so a month ago. A decision, which Pietro Mazzara believes will be costly, as he says, for Milan News.
“The championship is over, but Milan is playing a much more important game in the next few days. The announcement of Igli Tare as the new sporting director will arrive soon, as well as that of the separation from Sergio Conceiçao.
“Two formal acts, but at the same time substantial because they open the working season of the Albanian director, who will begin his operations late compared to a normal schedule and with a sensationally important knot to untie, that of the new coach.
“But even here, the Milan fan is better off not deluding himself about the possibility of big names arriving for the bench, unless there are sensational changes of direction also from an economic point of view.
“The increasingly probable farewell of Conte to Napoli for Juventus will bring Massimiliano Allegri to the Neapolitan bench, and that’s it.
“Because the reality of the facts is one and only one: why would a great coach, who wants to be paid as such and does not want to submit to budget limits, accept coming to Milan? With what immediate prospects could he accept the Rossoneri bench? For the coat of arms?
“Yes, perhaps, but not because today Milan has a queue of top coaches who want to come. Because they need coaches from Milan, coaches who know how to recreate enthusiasm within the environment and within the sacred microcosm of Milanello.
“Gian Piero Gasperini, to name one, why should he abandon Atalanta, a rich club, with financial resources, solid, capable of reacting immediately to unforeseen events, as happened with the purchase of Retegui after Scamacca’s injury, with a lightning deal, without dragging it out?
“Why should Vincenzo Italiano risk his growth process, leaving a place that is consecrating him to enter a meat grinder?

“Why should Massimiliano Allegri prefer Milan out of everything to Napoli, champions of Italy, who have shown that they can spend even after a season like that of 2023-2,4 very similar to that of Milan 2024-25? Because in the end, De Laurentiis spent the money.
“At Milan, they always drag their feet, and even in this case, they are late, along the lines of the mistakes of a year ago. Because when it was written that the management was evaluating the possibility of continuing with Pioli in the event of progressing to the next round in the Europa League against Roma, it was the truth.
“Because when the chances of Sergio Conceiçao remaining in the event of winning the Coppa Italia were kept open, it was the truth. Then the results on the pitch turned against the Milan management plans (ironically always at the Olimpico), and now poor Tare finds himself in the position of having to operate in conditions that are anything but optimal.
“The only name that, as of today, could be functional to Milan’s situation and to lay the foundations for a three-year technical project is Roberto De Zerbi.
“Taking into account that Sarri will not come to Milan and that Gasperini will hardly be a chance (as of today), De Zerbi could work with full weeks to install his football in the squad, and being a complex doctrine, the time available would be fundamental for him and for the players.
“In addition, it would also be a name that, on a media level, would give a boost to the mood and would have Igli Tare as his primary protector.”

RDZ makes most sense, he can play with back 3 as he has shown at Marseille and isn’t as rigid as Motta for instance.
Conte is definitely a pipe-dream and please got let Napoli get Allegri… Gasperini would be interesting (Sarri being for me 2nd worst after Allegri) but what can you give him so he gets interested in the project, even more Gasperini never deals with big names (only at Inter and he failed…)
After Conte, RDZ just makes sense…
continuing on the foundation that Conceicao gave us, or maybe using Pavlovic/Bartesaghi as LB similar to City with Gvardiol/Ake to revive back 4… Use Jimenez/Alexis as Frimpong-esque RB/RM making the other flank more defensive
I’m still not convinced about De Zerbi but he is a Rossoneri and he is definitely a better option than Allegri, Sarri and Motta.
Conte would most likely win the scudetto at Milan next season with only 1 game per week but these bozos in Milan management are running a real circus show and it doesn’t seem like they will be removed from the club anytime soon.
Motta and DeZerbi are both 2 year projects, none can make us win Scudetto year 1, except Conte…
Motta is a big question mark… he had lost points mostly to draws, being bad communicator with the players but this might be the role actually meant for Ibra… being bros players and smoothing things over with them and Motta… but again, was Bologna a fluke comes more to my mind… maybe also he didn’t have the right players?!
I still like Motta though. He did well at Bologna and now he has experience running a top club with bigger pressures and diva players. I still think jumping from mid size club to top club requires some adjustment and Juve werent willing to wait. I’m with you on Conte’s assessment. He’s the only one that will bring a scudetto year 1. BUT, he will also be the one leaving year 2 or 3 after fighting with everyone in management.
I don’t think it would matter who our directors are ,if Conte has to choose between Napoli, Juve and Milan he’s not coming here this summer. Need a more realistic target.
Bring back Pioli atleast….
Lol, they won’t bring him back. There’s a lot to unpack as regards the decision making of this current management
All that article about unachievable managers and the conclusion is De Zerbi? He’s contracted to a UCL team, he’s not coming to us.
And we got rid of Pioli and Fonseca too soon? You sure? Last I checked, one of them finished second in the league and the other was comfortably qualifying for the next round of the UCL.
Conte wont come to Milan while this management is here.
Watch us go for Tudor.
Sergio is not the problem. Yes he changes the formation late in the season but he listen and change to 3 back. Milan treated him unfairly after giving us a trophy in an incredible manner. Beating juventus and inter.
If he had a full season with this we will be competing for seria A and not just top 4.
The management needed escape goat for their failure and the coach was the best option for them. MILAN IS AN UNGRATEFUL TEAM.
He’s had half a season and we still don’t show up in the first half of games and still have no defined style of play. If he stays I understand it but his form with the team in statistical terms was worse than Fonseca’s; we went from xG dominance with inconsistent finishing to parity with some very poor teams but a weird knack of playing well in second halves.
Tare or no Tare, nothing will change at Milan because the management hasn’t been held accountable and are the same idiots who will now try to “rebuild” the Milan they themselves destroyed.
My problem with Concecaio was why he kept on always selecting Theo Hernandez when he knew well that he was inefficient and also leaking goals. If he had played Bartesaghi or another serious player we could have won the Coppa Italia and perhaps beat Roma and Atlanta. For that reason alone he must go!
Give Abate for coach
Well I suspect Conte has already decided to leave Napoli in January and contacted Juventus that he want to join them, so it’s nothing much to do with the delay, as for Allergri, just let him join Napoli as he play boring 🥱 football and would never promote our Camarda, it’s the same for Conte, he will bring Lukaku to Juventus and will not promote Camarda either, well hopefully Milan will hire winning coach with good personality, Conceicao is not nice person as he confronts with players in public, Pioli was such a nice coach and everyone loves him, too bad he was not winning enough trophy 🏆
