It is an increasingly likely possibility that AC Milan will have an Italian head coach once again next season, and it seems there are four names in the mix.
With the disappointments of this season, both being at the hands of foreign coaches, it seems Milan are looking to bring an Italian core back to the club, and this is the case off the pitch too, with a new head coach ideally being Italian.
As Tuttosport writes this morning, it seems there are five names being linked with the job, those being Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, Roberto De Zerbi, Vincenzo Italiano and Carlo Ancelotti.
Currently, Allegri would be the easiest candidate to arrive at the club, considering he is without a job, but there are favourable situations for each coach, it seems. Conte and De Zerbi both have question marks on their futures, even if they arrived at their current clubs in the summer.
Italiano’s situation could fit in this bracket, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio yesterday, but it remains to be seen.
Then, there is the case of Don Carlo, who many would love to see back at San Siro, but whether this can become a reality remains to be seen. However, it seems De Zerbi’s name is more prevalent on the four-man shortlist than that of the legendary coach.

Conte is the right one. If Milan want to win the second star, Conte can do that. The others are either not fit for this Milan or do not have a proven record of winning trophies.
Why would Conte, whose Napoli will be playing CL football next season, want to move to ACM, who’ll struggle to qualify even for the Europa Conference League? No top coach – Ancelotti, Guardiola, Klopp, in addition to Conte – will ever take the reins at a second-rate club, which is what ACM has become under Redbird. All speculation to the contrary is a show and a distraction – designed to promote false hopes and pretend that the club is still a serious force in European football, which it no longer is.
Not until there’s a change of owner and ACM buys and retains the best players – not aging stars and other rejects – will top coaches come to our club.

Actually, Donald Trump for ACM – not as coach, but as owner – is an excellent idea. If he’s keen to buy Greenland, why not also our storied club – one of the world’s great sporting brands, which has fallen on hard times?
Our club urgently needs individuals with very deep pockets and soaring ambition to rescue it from the indigent and inept Redbird – a new team in charge whose overriding aim will be to Make Milan Great Again. Trump’s adjutant Elon Musk should become our CEO. He’ll have no hesitation firing staff – both on and off the pitch – who are lazy, unproductive, and simply not up to the job, and as the world’s richest person, will go out of his way to buy and retain the best players – not aging stars and other rejects, which has been Redbird’s modus operandi.
