GdS: Why Pulisic is likely to remain at Milan as plan to reignite spark emerges

Despite his obvious struggles in 2026, the AC Milan management will retain faith in Christian Pulisic heading into next season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speak of a ‘true revolution’ and an ‘earthquake’ coming for Milan’s attack, one that won’t just affect Rafael Leao. Virtually every member of the struggling department is in trouble, with the exception of Pulisic.

Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku and even the latest arrival Niclas Füllkrug – who won’t be signed by West Ham – are all set to leave. The future of Francesco Camarda will be evaluated, who will return from Lecce but could be loaned elsewhere.

Pulisic locked in

Pulisic’s contract expires in 2027, but the club have an option to extend his contract for another year. Captain America and Milan have been in talks about a renewal for some time, but have yet to reach a definitive agreement.

In fact, negotiations have essentially been stalled for a few months. Yet, the management are determined to hold on to the American star, despite a 2026 with little to show. Massimiliano Allegri himself is confident he’ll continue to rely on Pulisic.

The American was the team’s most prolific scorer in the first half of the season despite some physical issues sustained with his national team. The coach believes that Pulisic is a capable second striker, provided he has a striker with certain characteristics alongside him.

“I have to try to bring balance to the team; playing without a true centre-forward, Chris struggles more,” Max said after Sunday’s goalless draw with Juventus. So, the plan for next season is to pair Pulisic with the right No.9 and go from there.

  1. If you look at his career, he’s inconsistent. This is probably the last chance to get good money for him. There are better wide forwards in Serie A.

          1. Just google “Pulisic goal contributions season per season from 2023 onwards”. You’re one of those kids whose mom still helps you get your sneakers on, right?

          2. 😂😂😂😂 I was ridiculing the halfwit you are. If you didn’t get the memo. I guess you need a picture to understand?😂😂 you really can’t understand anything, no matter how obvious it is.

          3. LOL. And you completely missed the point again. It’s like I’m talking with a 5-year-old with autism. Scratch that because that’s insulting to such persons. You’re not on their level yet.

  2. Either get better defenders and play Leao and Pulisic on the wings. Or sell both and bring in two strikers. The second is way more risky in my opinion.
