Fabrizio Romano expects the Goncalo Ramos signing to be an indication of AC Milan’s new direction under Ruben Amorim.
The big news of the past 24 hours is that Milan are closing in on a club-record deal for the PSG striker, having made a bid which is believed to be €74m plus bonuses, which was accepted. The 25-year-old has already undergone his medical and the announcement cannot be far away.

Romano posted another video on his YouTube channel in which he spoke about the deal that brought Ramos to Milan, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan is a done deal. The player has already undergone a medical with AC Milan, which was approved by the Portuguese club’s staff and sent to AC Milan’s staff,” the journalist began.
“Ramos will sign a five-year contract that has already been approved by his agent Jorge Mendes, who has been in Italy in secret to work on this deal. I want to clarify the figures: on Thursday I said that AC Milan’s offer was higher than €50 million, but in reality it is much higher.
“Milan is going all-in to avoid competition; the Rossoneri didn’t want to wait to avoid losing the player. There were an English club and Atlético Madrid interested in Ramos, but Milan closed the deal for a record sum: €74 million in fixed compensation plus bonuses.
“If these bonuses were to materialise, it would break the €80 million mark. This is the agreement reached between PSG and Milan, led by Gerry Cardinale and Jorge Mendes. It’s a historic deal for the Rossoneri, financially speaking.
“Ruben Amorim also played a key role in arriving at Milan with the striker he wanted at Manchester United; he’s a striker he wanted. I expect Milan to continue working with Amorim in the same way they did for Ramos, identifying and selecting the name also in the other roles, with Amorim being the guiding light of Milan’s transfer market.”
As we revealed in our piece on Friday night, it is not surprising that Cardinale has decided to listen to Amorim. In fact, he ran the risk of the new coach walking away if he did not hand him the keys following the Markus Krösche saga.
Cardinale had to send a serious signal…so many things went wrong this past season that a decent mercato will restore some faith in the fan base. Hoping he will continue in this vein and that is to entrust the coach with the players he wants.
Not really a decent start then lol. It’s not about showcasing how he’s able to splurge 75mil + for a single player. Moreover for a player who’s not a regular starter both in club and national level. We all too familiar on where reckless transfer market can lead to.
