Niclas Füllkrug will remain an AC Milan player until the end of the season, but there are already plans being put in place for his future.
Füllkrug was Milan’s only signing of the winter window as he arrived on loan from West Ham United with an option to buy set at €5m. He was supposed to be the target man to add a fresh dimension to the attack, but he has only scored once so far, a winner at San Siro against Lecce.

As a result, virtually every major source has been reporting that the Rossoneri management will not use their option to buy him permanently, and thus a return to London appears certain. However, it is likely to only be in passing.
A queue of suitors
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Füllkrug is VfL Wolfsburg’s ‘dream transfer target’ for the summer in the event they stay in the Bundesliga. He is seen as a leader for the squad, one that is currently in the relegation places.
There have recently been direct talks between Wolfsburg and Füllkrug, but no decision has been made yet. West Ham would be willing to let him leave for a low fee this summer, as they see no role for the 33-year-old in their plans.
Wolfsburg are not the only possible option for Füllkrug though: teams in the MLS, Italy, Spain and also his old club Werder Bremen are all at the window.

How does this dude get more interested clubs than Theo Hernandez?
They’ll get relegated, so I don’t think it is a good sign lol
