Athletic: Wolves want ’10-figure fee’ for young star as Milan lodge enquiry

AC Milan are interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves now his loan spell at Sheffield United has expired, according to a report.

Gibbs-White has had a good season on loan with the Blades as he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists, winning their player of the season award in the process, having occupied a role both as a right-sided player but also as a playmaker and even as a second striker. He helped United get to the play-off semi-finals, where they lost on penalties to Nottingham Forest.

According to The Athletic, Sheffield United would have made ‘a big-money bid’ had they won promotion but now Gibbs-White will ‘want to prove himself at the highest level’, which is where Milan come into the equation.

The Rossoneri ‘lodged a tentative inquiry’ which hasn’t yet gone any further. Wolves boss Bruno Lage must now persuade him his future lies in the their first-team group but if he wants to leave, they will ask for a ’10-figure fee and a hefty sell-on clause’.
