One of the names that is on AC Milan’s radar if they have to make a managerial change is Xabi Alonso, Carlo Pellegatti claims.

In this crucial season finale, there continues to be a lot of speculation about major changes at Milan. While the repeated meetings between Allegri and the management appear to be signs of planning for the future, it still feels as though a managerial change cannot be 100% ruled out.

It has been stated by sources like Calciomercato.com that Allegri’s future would be up in the air without top four, while Sportitalia are among those to claim he is thinking about leaving regardless due to a poor relationship with certain figures in the hierarchy.

Post-Allegri: Italiano or Alonso?

Pellegatti spoke out in his latest video published on his YouTube channel. Among the various topics discussed, the fate of Allegri and his relationship with Giorgio Furlani was mentioned, as well as possible replacements.

“It remains to be seen what Massimiliano Allegri will do. I don’t think he’ll be able to continue with Furlani, that’s my feeling,” he said.

“If Max were to leave, the candidate would be Italiano, who is rumoured to be leaving Bologna. The coach who Milan liked as an alternative to Allegri – a thought from a few months ago – is Xabi Alonso.

“But he seems destined for Chelsea. When it was said that Furlani made a trip to Düsseldorf last year, it was precisely to sound out Xabi Alonso.”

  1. Assuming what is said is true.
Why is Furlani the one inquiring about a new coach ? What knowledge does he possess about football (or any sport) to pick a new coach ? Why it is not Tare, the Sporting Director, the man precisely brought to bring players and coaches, not the one doing it ?

  2. Not that I ever take Pellegatti seriously, but if Allegri walks, so do the senior players. Rabiot, Modric, Mike will ask to leave, Puli and so on.

And if that’s not a PR nightmare for Gerry’s brand, I don’t know what is. But hey he probably wouldn’t even care.

    1. Let them all efin leave then. The guy has killed our soul. If we have a good replacemenf why would they leave.

I would invest on a top manager, the one that we know is capable of olagi v football

  3. If allegri stays were doomed. We will be bored to death and will be content with a top 5 finish and being eliminated from Europe early.

If allegri leaves we’re doomed. Every senior player leaves too. Then we revamp and furlani takes control yet again and finds another yes man. What I dont understand is years of problems with furlani how is he still here?

  4. Vincenzo Italiano is qualified for the job. And he understands Italian football but acmilan need to improve qualities in their signings is important at least spending £300 million we need defenders, attacking midfielders wingers and striker is important to avoid issues in the next seasons.

    1. Exactly. Doesn’t matter who comes in because they will never listen and fulfill coaches demands. Player trading is also a source of income to them.

“So you want to bring in experienced players with depreciating value that we’ll lose money on but ones that will add skill and experience to this team? F*CK NO”.
