Moretto: Zeroli expected to return to Monza after six-month loan spell

Kevin Zeroli’s future was a bit of a mystery going into the summer, but it appears that a return to Monza is on the cards.

Going into 2024-25, Zeroli was like a lot of the young players at the club in the sense that he was expected to spend the season with Milan Futuro. However, he didn’t make much of an impact in Serie C, leading to reflections ahead of the winter window.

The directors decided it was the right move to loan Zeroli out at the end of the winter mercato on a six-month loan deal. It was only ever a dry loan, and to a team that were relegated without much of a fight, but he had some bright moments.

We stated in a recent feature that it felt certain a new loan will be sought for Zeroli, given he is still just 20 years of age and needs game time in order to fully develop. Now, it seems he is closer than first thought to resolving his immediate future.

As the reliable journalist Matteo Moretto posted on X: “Kevin Zeroli towards a return to Monza.” He was asked by one user if it would be a dry loan again, to which he responded: “Yes, yes.”

  1. Good move. We should exploit our relationship with Galliani to make Monza a sort of Milan 2 in Serie B. Send Liberali, Torriani, and Bartesaghi as well.

    1. Exactly what I wanted to write. Monza is just next to Milan so players wouldn’t have to change their surroundings much and Galliani is ours. I’d send Camarda, Liberali and Bartesaghi there too if they can guarantee them playing time.

  2. I’m surprised at the comments. Were the three Serie A goals of Tammy Abraham worth the time Camarda spent on the bench? Would you rather see an injury prone Loftus-Cheek, Musah, and a 33-year old Xhaka in midfield over Liberali and Zeroli?
We didn’t gain much, neither long-term nor short-term, playing Monotlivo, Essien, Muntari, Sosa, and Biglia over Cristante and Locatelli. Gabbia, Calabria, and Abate all did well coming through the ranks. Simic did well last season when played.
I would rather integrate Camarda, Liberali, Zeroli, Bartesaghi and other Primavera players into the senior team. They would generate a lot of excitement. Daniel Maldini’s goal for us went viral for a month. Locatelli’s goals against Sassuolo and Juventus are still talked about. Let’s take a chance on these guys
