‘Deserved something more’ – Zielinski admits Inter are thinking of last clash with Milan

AC Milan will face Inter this weekend, and both teams will want to win for different reasons. Yet, the Nerazzurri will also be powered by a feeling of revenge.

For Milan, Sunday’s game is for pride and little to nothing more. Whilst they have agreed internally to fight for the Scudetto, they will not believe they have won the title if they win this weekend. Indeed, the goal is to fight in case the Nerazzurri slip.

Where the visitors are concerned, a win this weekend would essentially win them the league, given they would have a 13-point lead with only 10 games left to play. However, they also want to end the recent run.

Zielinski’s derby admission

It has been almost two years since the Rossoneri slipped up in the derby, and whilst their record may not be as positive as Inter’s was under Simone Inzaghi, it is still a record that Massimiliano Allegri’s team will be expected to uphold.

Speaking on Monday, Piotr Zielinski spoke to ANSA about the game and his team’s focus for the clash, as MilanNews relays.

“The derby? First of all, we think about Como and we have to do well there, then we will think about the derby. Obviously, the last games didn’t go as we wanted, but I think that in the last derby in the league we deserved something more.

“But then there will be time to prepare it, to think well about that game and demonstrate our strength – he added -. A foil for a decisive goal at Milan? I don’t know, I think it’s not important who scores goals, it will be important to win the game, because it would be a nice gift for our fans, for ourselves and for the whole season. We’re doing great in Serie A.”

  1. I could think of at least 2 Scudetti Inter didn’t deserve, possibly and likely more. Join the cue buddy
