MN: Ziyech operation takes a potential turn as Chelsea winger follows Lukaku’s path

By Oliver Fisher -

The negotiation between Milan and Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech is proceeding and the Rossoneri are hoping to have an unlikely ally.

MilanNews claims that there is no news to report in terms of a major advance in talks between the two clubs, but Ziyech announced yesterday evening that he has decided to end the relationship with his agent and thus will control his own future.

The Morocco international will therefore now be represented in the negotiations only by himself or by members of his family and it is also possible that he will accompanied by lawyers, which is exactly what his friend Romelu Lukaku decided to do.

The Belgian centre-forward did that in order to take full control of his own destiny after a return to Chelsea that so far failed to bear any fruit, and now he has returned to Inter it could well by that Ziyech is following the path of his former team-mate and aims to contest a derby with Lukaku.

  1. This will be the new path soon, because most of these agents are notoriously greedy and don’t even put the clients first. Imagine an agent wanting 20mill as fee

  2. Hopefully this is the beginning of a revolution. I’ve never understood what agents do aside from take money out of the pockets of clubs and players. All you need is contract attorneys to review the actual contract to make sure everything is square. Players are quite capable of stating their salary and bonus requirements. If somehow agents can be justified their compensation needs to be set at a fixed % of the transfer fee. Like 3-5%.

  3. Agents are important in the past as they hold the key to getting scouts to view their clients. These days players do not sign renewal contracts easily. What agents are asking now are vast sums of “transfer” fee. FIFA should dictate that players/clubs pay the agents a fixed Sum of money. Eg 1 month salary for every year of contract signed.
