Transfer Recap: First official sale; what can happen on Deadline Day?

SempreMilan.com’s columnist Vito Angele rounds up another day ahead of the deadline day.

First official sale

Yesterday was an intense day for AC Milan, as they parted ways with Paletta and Zanellato. The former, as anticipated yesterday, terminated his contract with Milan after that was agreed by all parties. In fact, today he could sign with Fenerbahce, even if some Chinese clubs are interested in him.

The transfer of Niccolo Zanellato was also officialised yesterday, as he joins Crotone on a loan with an obligation to buy, valued at €300K. Milan will receive 50% on a future sale. There is no agreement, however, for Gustavo Gomez. Negotiations have hit a standstill with Boca who remain on their first offer: €5m for 80% of the card.

Today, the loan transfer of Gabriel to Empoli will be official. In fact, the Brazilian has reduced his salary to join the Serie B club. Regarding Jose Mauri, he will stay at Milan, despite twists and turns, as he hasn’t received any proposal.

Deadline Day – What can happen?

Virtually nothing. Milan, in fact, have not planned for any purchases. However, there are a few possibilities when it comes to selling players, as Celta Vigo and Palmeiras are interested in Gustavo Gomez.

Zapata has also received a few offers, but Gattuso wants him to stay with the Rossoneri.
