After yesterday’s performance, losing 0-3 against Chelsea, it has become clear that AC Milan need to part ways with several of their current players. However, there are only three weeks left.

Milan started their pre-season with the draws against Celtic and Inter, thus hoping to clinch their first win yesterday. Instead, their flaws were put on display and the first defeat was recorded, failing to register a single shot on target.
Clearly, as also highlighted by the newspaper this morning, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. The only problem is that the Rossoneri only have about three weeks to do this work; two if they want it done before the start of the season.
A lot of work, not much time
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), there are a total of 12 players who could part ways with Milan this summer: Tomori, Terracciano, Fofana, Athekame, Odogu, Cissè, Ricci, Estupinan, Gimenez, Musah, Loftus-Cheek, and Leao.
Odogu and Cissè will likely leave on loan, while there are offers from the Premier League and Turkish clubs for Tomori and Fofana. For the rest, everything is a little bit up in the air, especially for Leao as Gerry Cardinale is continuing to ask for at least €50m.
Of course, the biggest problem here is that we are basically talking about a massive overhaul that needs to be done within three weeks. It’s not just about selling the players, Milan also need to find adequate replacements and that is always hard (or at least more expensive) in August.
The management will certainly be put to the test, in other words, and it could make or break the upcoming season.
