Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) offers some updates on the Ziyech situation, confirming that the Morocco international has been targeted by the Milan management for several weeks and for various reasons.

First of all, Chelsea do not consider him to be a key part of their plans moving forward and therefore could let him leave at a cut price, meaning he could join the Rossoneri for a figure of just €10m.

The obstacle to signing Ziyech has always been his €6m net per season salary which is substantially above Milan’s internal wage ceiling of €4-4.5m per year maximum (per player), but the 29-year-old is willing to take a pay cut to join Milan.

Ziyech would be one of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s plans for if they do not manage to get a deal for Charles De Ketelaere done. However, if the Belgian arrives it seems unlikely that there will also be a place for the former Ajax star.
