Agent of Milan-linked Bologna star admits desire to take ‘important step’

The agent of Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson has confirmed that the midfielder would like to take the next step in his career when the time is right.

The Scottish international is maturing game after game thanks to the guidance of Thiago Motta and is a candidate to become a highly coveted player in view of the next summer transfer window.

As Calciomercato.com reported recently, the credit goes to Giovanni Sartori for signing Ferguson but some of the top sides have begun to take notice of his performances.

Milan have been observing him for a few weeks and will evaluate later whether or not to attempt to open negotiations with Bologna, as per the source.

Ferguson’s agent Bill McMurdo spoke to Sportitalia about his client’s future and he confirmed that there are big clubs that are sniffing around him.

“He is a player who, as Thiago Motta himself explained, is capable of covering multiple positions on the pitch very well and this is certainly an important quality for a 24-year-old boy,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“In January no club came forward for him, due to Bologna’s clear intention to consider him untransferable, but we are aware that there are big clubs following him.

“When the right time comes, both for the player and for the club, I am sure he will take this important step in his career.”

We also spoke to McMurdo last year about the Milan and Juventus links, and his comments to use follow a similar line of thought.
