GdS: Agent of Zaniolo working on deal with Milan and Roma – the latest

AC Milan’s January transfer window was expected to be quiet given the words of Paolo Maldini, but the management are pushing to try and sign Nicolò Zaniolo.

As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are offering a paid loan with option to buy for Zaniolo, a formula that Roma absolutely do not want to accept because they want a permanent sale or at most a loan with an obligation to buy.

The Rossoneri do not want to go beyond €18m, while the valuation of the Giallorossi is decidedly higher. Milan are not denying their interest in the player but at the same time they deny having presented official offers, despite rumours of a loan with option to buy bid set at €22m that would become an obligation to buy with Champions League qualification.

Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli is at work trying to bring the two clubs to an agreement, but it won’t be easy. Roma are demanding the certainty of a buy-out, though there are expected to be new talks today given Milan are in the capital for tonight’s match against Lazio.

It should not be forgotten that Tottenham are also keen on the player, and are ready to offer even more than Milan (€30m), but the obligation to buy clauses proposed by the London club are more complex.
