Amorim’s name has been on the rise for a few years now and whilst his stock took a hit with Manchester United, there can be several arguments made that it was not a fair representation of his ability as a manager.
Nevertheless, he will be given a new opportunity in Serie A to re-establish himself as one of the more exciting younger coaches in the world.
It is also a fresh start for Milan, who are going back to square one, quite literally. However, they are doing so with someone who loves the club and has seen it at its highest.
Amorim’s Milan dream
Indeed, in 2017, Amorim told Tribuna Expresso that he had spent his childhood watching the Rossoneri and hoped to coach them in the future, as Calciomercato.com relays.
“I’m happy. Because as a child, I loved watching Benfica and AC Milan. I remember watching AC Milan videos with Maldini, Baresi, Gullit, Rijkaard, Savicevic… My childhood dreams were to play for Benfica and AC Milan. I achieved one. Now I have to be a coach for the other.”
He is about to fulfil his own prophecy and that chance is rare.
