We wrote an article in April 2024 about Kostyuk, who has already earned the nickname ‘baby Shevchenko’ because of the way that he plays, his ruthless eye for goal and also his nationality. Look away now if you don’t want to feel old: he was born in 2012, and is just 13 years of age.
Kostyuk: A rising star
His passport says Italy but next to it there is also Ukrainian in his blood, and it is above all this element which has brought the label. He has scored goals in every way, even overhead kicks, and led the Milan Esordienti U13 to the victory of the Scudetto just a few days ago.
In the Final Four phase, the young Rossoneri side triumphed by getting the better of Parma, Albinoleffe and Roma. Among the stars was Kostyuk, who scored four goals in three games. He also scored a hat-trick in the derby a few months ago.
At just nine years old back in 2021, Kostyuk was noticed by the former head scout of the Milan youth sector Roberto Trapani and was brought from Assago to Milan. From that day on, his Rossoneri story began.
According to what Sprint&Sport wrote last November, the teenager has scored more than 850 goals in three years. Truly impressive numbers that make him, even if only 13 years old, the most prominent striker of the entire youth sector.
This now excludes Camarda, who is now in the first team and is also one of the Italian-Ukrainian’s role models, as per MilanNews. Kostyuk, like Camarda, also has an extra motivation: playing for the team he supports, having been a Milanista since birth.
