Asllani ‘proud and honoured’ to win prestigious Golden Foot award – photos

AC Milan Women’s striker Kosovare Asllani has reflected on a special night as she was presented with a prestigious award.

Asllani joined the Rossoneri last summer and was awarded the ‘Golden Foot’ last night in the Principality of Monaco, an award given to those who have had an important career over 29 years of age. It is a historic recognition for Asllani, who is the first player to receive it who is still active.

Reacting on Instagram, she posted: “One of those special nights. Very proud and honoured to write history by receiving the very first Golden foot award for a women’s player. An award that goes to someone with a great international career, is at least 29 years old and has a strong personality.

“The special part with this award is that the winner leaves a permanent mould of their footprints on “The Champions Promenade”, on the seafront of the Principality of Monaco.

“Thank you to Monaco, Prince Albert, President Antonio and the entire organization. This award represent women’s football and how far it’s come but the best part is, we are just getting started.”
