Atalanta’s CEO Luca Percassi has confirmed Tony D’Amico’s future is uncertain, amid reports linking him with a job at AC Milan.

In recent days, D’Amico’s name has ended up in Milan’s orbit again. Should Igli Tare leave his post as the sporting director at the end of the season, his counterpart at Atalanta seems to be the name that CEO Giorgio Furlani is pushing for (even if he too is not safe in Gerry Cardinale’s eyes).
Confirmation from Percassi
Now, Atalanta’s Chief Executive Luca Percassi has spoken to Sky. On the sidelines of the ‘Premio Di Marzio’ event in Portofino and he was asked about the future of D’Amico.
“D’Amico could leave at the end of the season, my job is to find a suitable replacement. Giuntoli would be a good replacement, we’ll see if we can get him with us,” he said (via MilanPress).
“The relationship with Tony D’Amico may end, but the respect we have for him will last forever. I can only thank him, we’ve always been in Europe with him, but like certain players, he’s also sought after.
“If he were to leave, it would be my job to find a suitable replacement, and Giuntoli is one of the best managers in Italian football, I know he has many teams interested in him. We’ll see if it’s a marriage that can happen, we’d be very happy.”
As a reminder, the reliable Matteo Moretto recently stated that La Dea are indeed looking to change their sporting director, with D’Amico heading out and the former Juventus man Cristiano Giuntoli replacing him.
