CorSera: Atalanta want €5m for goalkeeper despite Milan agreeing three-year deal

Atalanta are asking for compensation in order to sell Marco Sportiello in January given he will have six months left on his deal, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are deciding whether to invest in the arrival of a new goalkeeper who could be the new deputy for the second part of the season and beyond.

There are two factors behind this: the first is that Ciprian Tătărușanu will say goodbye to Milan when his contract expires at the end of the season, and the second is the precarious physical conditions of the starting goalkeeper Mike Maignan .

Milan have already agreed terms with Sportiello who will sign a three-year deal with the club but Maldini and Massara are also thinking of bringing forward Sportiello’s arrival at Milan by a few months.

However, the problem is that Atalanta are asking for €5m to allow the player to leave midway through the current campaign.
