‘Beautiful to watch’ – Barcelona boss Flick full of praise for ‘really fast’ Milan

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick praised AC Milan after the friendly meeting in Baltimore, conceding that the pace caused his side a lot of issues.

Milan and Barcelona treated the over 50,000 strong crowd to a very entertaining game as both sides rounded off their 2024 Soccer Champions Tour campaigns, with a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes followed by a shootout win for the Rossoneri.

It was Paulo Fonseca’s side who started better and took a quick 2-0 lead with goals from Luka Jovic and Christian Pulisic, but Robert Lewandowski’s brace got Barca back to parity and they were the far better side in the second half.

Flick spoke at his post-match press conference after the game at the M&T Bank Stadium and he was asked for his thoughts on Milan as an opponent, with his comments coming via Radio Rossonera.

“I always talk more about my team. But when they attack, they have really fast players. Milan were beautiful to watch. And they also knew how to use the spaces that we gave them at the beginning,” he said.

It must be said that the second half was a more difficult watch as Barcelona dominated, and their coach praised how they responded after a tough start to create many chances.

“We recovered and I think that especially in the second half we had many opportunities and everything went well. And they had some problems.”
