Inter’s Bastoni admits there ‘isn’t even a 0.1% chance’ he would play for Milan

Alessandro Bastoni has acknowledged the importance of the upcoming Derby della Madonnina and revealed he would never play for Milan.

Bastoni was key as Inter won the Scudetto last season and told DAZN (quoted by MilanNews) of the importance in not dropping points against Milan on Saturday.

Inter sit top of Serie A on 53 points with a game in hand on Milan and Napoli, who are both tied on 49 points. The result could be crucial in deciding where the title ends up at the end of the season.

“Surely it is essential not to lose points with the small ones to have the treasure in head-to-head matches that can end in any way,”

“Surely it is essential not to lose points against the small teams to have the advantage in head-to-head matches which can end in any way.” Bastoni admitted.

He added: “Last year we weren’t even at the top and in the end we won by ten points. Obviously it will be important not to lose.”

Bastoni also discussed life as an Inter player, where he confirmed he would never play for city rivals Milan.

“There isn’t even a 0.1% chance to see me take that path.”

The 22-year-old identifies as a lifelong Inter fan and recently signed a contract extension until 2024. November’s reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, with former Rossoneri attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu scoring a penalty for the Nerazzurri.
