Finishing a season with a Supercoppa Italiana and nothing else to show for it is dismal for Milan. No Europe means a massive loss in earnings, and the Rossoneri are suffering from it as a result. Key players want out, and books have to be balanced.
Rather than falling to this, though, it seems that the Diavolo are trying to attack the summer, making moves with meaning, rather than allowing them to pass by. Work still needs to be done, but there are claims that things are ‘different’.
‘Good things can emerge’
Milan, now, are in the race for a striker, two midfielders and Luka Modric should also arrive, proving that the groundwork is being done early. Much of this is thanks to Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, who are increasingly involved.
Today, Luca Bianchin spoke of their impact to Radio Rossonera, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.
“It will be different to what we are used to with the commander Conceicao of the last few months. He [Allegri] has a different approach to the players. I expect that we will spend a lot of time at Milanello, especially at the beginning.
“I expect that we will train on his football principles, so with a lot more attention to defence, for example. Even if Conceicao also said to focus a lot on that. However, the relationship with the players will be different; he is a coach who has been used to working with young people and with experienced players.
“I see in him and in Tare a reconstruction of a Milan with slightly different principles, more based on experience, on people who have been in this world for many years. I believe that, thanks to the only match per week, and the very risky path of Inter and Juventus, good things can emerge in the coming months.
“I think Milan will play with 4, even if there is no certainty, Allegri has played in many ways in his career, but I think that if he wanted to set up the team with a 3-man defense, the logic would change a bit, because Walker will no longer be there, so a player who can play full-back or wing-back is missing.
“In that case, two central defenders should be taken, but I don’t think this will be a problem. In midfield, there is a situation that is evolving greatly and in my opinion, Guerra is easier to take than others.”
