Borussia Dortmund CEO puts an end to Brandt-Milan and Haaland-Chelsea rumours

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke appears to have put a definitive stop to the rumours that AC Milan could sign Julian Brandt.

Milan are on the hunt for a new attacking midfielder after the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu to rivals Inter, and Brandt is a name that has been repeatedly mentioned over the last few days after being initially linked by the journalist Carlo Pellegatti.

However, news has started to filter out suggesting that the 25-year-old Germany international is not an obtainable target for the Rossoneri, with Brandt himself admitting to being flattered by the Milan links earlier today, but pouring cold water on the chances of him leaving.

Now, confirmation seems to have arrived from Dortmund that there is no chance of seeing the ex-Leverkusen star arrive. Watzke spoke to the microphones of BILD, a well-known German outlet, and was asked about whether either Julian Brandt or Erling Haaland – linked with Chelsea – will leave the club this summer.

“For me it was already clear that Brandt would stay here again this season, as well as Haaland will play for Dortmund for another year,” he said (via MilanLive).
