Braida shares thoughts on Fonseca decision: “The only judge is time”

Paulo Fonseca is expected to take over AC Milan ahead of next season and the decision has been met with mixed emotions among the Rossoneri fans. The former club director Ariedo Braida has stated that they can only trust the directors, though.

Stefano Pioli has said goodbye to the club and while an official announcement is yet to be released, Fonseca is preparing to take over Milan. He has convinced the management and the statement is now imminent, with the parties having reached an agreement.

Speaking to TMW, as cited by MilanNews, the former Milan director Ariedo Braida shared his thoughts on the situation and indirectly urged the fans to have patience. After all, the fans have no option but to trust the management here.

For the post-Pioli era, Milan have chosen Fonseca, a name that hasn’t been met with great excitement…

“Whoever is in charge of managing the club must choose the right man. Then time will tell whether the choices made were right or not. The only judge is time.”

There is a lot of scepticism around…

“I’m not sceptical. We need to be realistic. Time will tell if it’s the right choice or not. I don’t feel like condemning anyone. In football, you can do well or not well. However, Fonseca has coached for many different clubs. He is not naive. Even if coaching Milan isn’t the simplest thing in the world.”

The premises do not inflame AC Milan fans…

“Maybe sometimes one arrives without the limelight and then proves everyone wrong…”

Several targeted reinforcements are needed this summer, that’s for sure, and Fonseca must also bring back the confidence to this team. Above all, Milan need a striker to replace Olivier Giroud who has left the club.
